The Arts Federation and the Town of West Lebanon excitedly announce a new mural will be dedicated on Saturday, July 9, at 10 am. The celebration will be held at the Town Office building, where the mural is currently being painted (201 S. High St. in West Lebanon). This mural adds to the expanding portfolio of TAF's mural projects across North Central Indiana.
For the past two weeks, artist Anthony Brooks has been working on a large-scale public art project for the small town in Warren County. Community members wished to have a mural painted on their Town Office, which can be seen from State Road 28. The mural's theme is agriculture and local livestock, which are important symbols to the town's residents.
A committee of West Lebanon community members selected Brooks, who has previously completed murals in Lafayette and Logansport in partnership with TAF. The group says they selected Brooks because he has an ability to "capture the spirit of a community." The committee also notes they liked that he was born and raised in Indiana.

"Although Warren County is one of the smallest and least densely populated counties in Indiana, I believe it has so much to offer in natural beauty and resources, agricultural history and innovation, state-honored and recognized schools, and a close-knit community rich in philanthropy and tradition...This mural will honor one of the last remaining downtown brick buildings and celebrate the spirit of West Lebanon."
TAF wishes to acknowledge the many West Lebanon community members who helped make this project possible through their planning and hospitality: Happy Foster Kinnear, Michelle Green, Mindy Hunter, Fire Chief Scott Hunter, Mel Kelson, Linda Kiger, Stephanie Larch, Trinity Presbyterian Church, John and Judy VanHook, Cindy Williams, and Colleen Wright. In addition to support from community members, this project was created with funding from the Wabash Heartland Innovation Network, Warren County Community Foundation, Warren County, and Town of West Lebanon.
