As an artist, I have always been fascinated by each individual’s view of a scene and what they can take away from it. I love photographing under different conditions to bring a different life to a scene and make people see things differently. Coming from a commercial background I now feel like I am returning to my roots as a fine art photographer. I have enjoyed getting out of the studio and working more in the landscape and with macro photography to create more organic works. Art is ever-evolving and I love learning new techniques behind the camera and in post-production to enhance my work.

I have been honing my craft for over 20 years. I was 8 or 9 when I got my first camera and I have been taking photos ever since. In high school, I fell in love with black and white photography and learned to develop film and print in the dark room. I got my BFA in Photography and Digital Imaging in 2009 from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. There I focused on commercial studio work to work in advertising. In 2009, in my senior year of college, I won a golden ADDY award in the student photography category. After graduation, I went to work for an advertising agency in southern Michigan for clients including Sur la Table, Amway, Walmart, and Meijer.
