“Human After All: A Journey Through Grief, Love, and Self-Discovery
This exhibition has been 7 years in the making.
Originating as independent works responding to grief, love, and the discovery of a sense of self, this exhibition follows the stages of grief in a range of media. From 2018 to 2025, these works showcase the life events of a woman in her 20s. The art showcases the visual exploration of what it means to be a woman in her 20s. It portrays the very real and raw emotions of grief, love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Through 2D elements, Vore dives deep into the complexities of her inner world. In sharing her story through art, she invites viewers to join her on a journey of self-discovery and healing, where vulnerability is celebrated as a source of strength. Vore hopes that her work will spark conversations about the grieving process and will resonate with others navigating similar paths, reminding us all that we are human and we should not be ashamed to feel all of life’s emotions.
Melynnie Vore is a Lafayette-based artist whose work explores grief, love, and self-discovery as a woman in her 20s.
