Jordan Weaver & Eric Wolinsky have been experimenting, problem-solving, and pushing creative boundaries since the early 2010s. Their work is fueled by a blend of art, design, science, absurdity, philosophy, and—on occasion—pancakes at IHOP. What began as freelance collaborations evolved into Weaver&Wolinsky, a satellite studio and creative collective where artists and designers come together to refine their skills, explore new techniques, and challenge conventional thinking.
We strive to experiment, stumble, and grow – away from the constraints of our 9-5. Failure is an essential part of learning, yet too often overlooked in professional settings. We embrace it, knowing that true growth comes not from avoiding mistakes, but from engaging with them head-on. We do not believe in absolutes, sometimes.
Chromaphone: An Interactive Exploration of Color, Sound, and Motion
Weaver&Wolinsky present ChromaPhone at The Arts Fed, an exhibition by Jordan Weaver and Eric Wolinsky that transforms the Lovell gallery into a dynamic, participatory soundscape. Using their phones, visitors can “play the gallery” to generate sound from composited video images, shifting color forms, turntables, and mechanical curiosities. Chromaphone challenges the boundaries of the audio-visual, inviting participants to play with, and remix the auditory experience in real-time. At the heart of the show is a commitment to reinvention. Discarded monitors and found footage, once obsolete, are repurposed into instruments of audiovisual play. These salvaged screens become color and sound portals, filled with visual rhythms ready to be turned to sound. Harmonize with other visitors or play your own way.
