Camila Flores Sánchez is a Mexican-American artist from Dallas, Texas. She is currently pursuing a BA in studio arts at Purdue University. Her work explores concepts of reality, perception, and the gaze. In her self-portraits, photography is both the medium and the subject. Using mirrors and lighting, Flores Sánchez makes obscure and illusive imagery to disrupt the viewer’s perception of reality. She questions photography as a truth-capturing tool by creating distortions without the use of digital manipulation.
