“Beyond The Wild”
“Beyond The Wild” is a collection of acrylic paintings on canvas. They depict scenes and creatures from imagined natural landscapes that appear otherworldly, but are not so different from our own. Combining surrealism with intricate detail gives the images a visceral yet dreamlike quality.
A few words from Devan:
“Devan Williams is a local multidisciplinary artist who graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Studio Arts and Technology. Devan has a wide array of skills and interests, such as photography, sculpture, and digital art, but specializes in painting. As a nature and animal lover, I am always searching for ways to encourage people to view the world around them differently. My work contains photo realistic details within surrealistic scenery, bringing fantastical creatures to life. When people are able to appreciate the vast diversity of the natural world, they can see that the imagined scenes in my work are not as far from reality as one would think. Even the simplest forms of nature can evoke a sense of wonder and magic as long as we are attuned to it.”
