Abstract Fluid Art
I’m originally from Switzerland and moved to the US in 1995 because of my husband’s work. I always was interested in art. I love exploring new art and going to art exhibitions. Four years ago, I started to design concrete jewelry but one year later, I discovered acrylic fluid art and absolutely fell in love with it. Art is my passion and my spirit. I am a self-taught artist. Fluid Art, which is also known as flow art, liquid art, or acrylic paint pouring, is a fun and popular abstract painting technique that involves the use of fluid art mediums, such as acrylic paint, or powdered pigments or inks. I’m using acrylic paint and Floetrol to thin out my paint. Acrylic fluid art includes over 100 different techniques. Ring pour, ribbon pour swipe, and Dutch pour, just to mention a few. I love to explore and try them out. I love to play with different color combinations and consistency of the paint. After my regular work, I have compulsive desire to create art in my studio. I can switch off and immerse myself in another world, in a world of colors and ideas. Sometimes my paintings are not what I had in mind, but that’s what I Iove about fluid art. You can’t duplicate a painting, every painting is unique. Recently, I started to pour over glass vases and bowls.
