Since 2014, the City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department has provided a unique art experience through its summer Art in the Park festival series. Art in the Park festivals showcase local and regional recognized fine arts and crafts, interactive art, music from local talent, a variety of foods from local food vendors, and fun activities for the kids—a unique art experience for the entire family!
During these events, local artisans showcase their wares and offer them for sale. Featured mediums include everything from pottery and wood, to jewelry, textiles, and much more. Art in the Park is a family-friendly event, free to attend, and open to the public. In 2021, the final event of the season reached nearly 800 in attendance. Each night features a free kids craft, food trucks, and free live entertainment.
Art in the Park will take place across 4 nights this summer:
- June 7 at Columbian Park
- June 21 at Columbian Park
- July 12 at Murdock Park
- August 2 at Armstrong Park
