The West Lafayette Public Arts Team, in partnership with the West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission and The Art Federation are requesting proposals from artists, art teams, and design firms for the design, fabrication and installation of multiple public art pieces to be curated and budgeted over a span of 5 years.

The goal for this project is form a partnership with an artist, art team, or design firm to build a collection of large-scale public art pieces that are interactive, playful, and add vibrance to our city streetscape. We hope the artist can bring elements of illumination, interaction, and/or spatial contrast at multiple locations throughout the City. The locations of the installations will be determined by collaboration between the Public Arts Team and the selected artist, art team, or design firm. The multi-phase project should incorporate at least 3 large installations that are cohesive and are connected by a theme that represents the community. The West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission will fund the project over a span of 5 years.

Design idea generators:
  • Illumination, contrast, prominence
  • Community engagement, interactive
